Show the current Taskhold task in CCometixLine

By Jake Marsh, who builds Taskhold. Updated 2026-10-26. Facts about other tools checked 2026-10-26. 1 min read.

CCometixLine is a fast Claude Code status line written in Rust. Its cmd metric shows the first line of any command, cached and run in the background, which is exactly what taskhold-mcp statusline prints: the task in progress, its bar and the running step, the same thing the live board shows.

Using ccstatusline instead? It has its own page. Without either, see the status line recipe.

Set it up

  1. Install the Taskhold CLI and save your key.
  2. Add a cmd metric to a line in ~/.claude/ccline/config.toml.
curl -fsSL https://taskhold.com/install.sh | sh
taskhold-mcp login
[[line]]
right = [
  { metric = "cmd", options = { run = "$HOME/.taskhold/bin/taskhold-mcp statusline", cache_s = 10 } },
]
Merge into your existing [[line]] entries; keep your other metrics on the left.

One limit to know

CCometixLine reads only the v2 config format, and shows only the first line of the command's output. taskhold-mcp prints a single line, so nothing is lost, but a long task title is cut at 40 characters.
