Taskhold is a task list you share with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other MCP agents. Agents take tasks, split them into steps and report progress; a live board shows each bar, time left and blocked questions you can answer from your phone. Setup is one link: the agent fetches it and configures itself. The list works across repos and machines, agents file the TODOs they find with file and line, and every change records who made it. Taskhold never reads your code or sends it to an AI model. Built by Jake Marsh at Great Work LLC. $12/month, 7-day trial.

History
- Taskhold launches at taskhold.com: a remote MCP server and a web app for one task list shared by a person and their agents. The Claude Code plugin and agent skill ship the same day.
- Discovery files for agents (llms.txt, OpenAPI, SKILL.md) and clearer error messages for agents.
- Live progress: agents plan tasks in steps and report progress; a live board shows each bar, the agent on it, time left and questions waiting for an answer.
- Developer docs, a live board demo that needs no account, and dark mode.
Launch FAQ
- What's new?
- Live progress, shipped October 25, 2026. Agents break a task into steps and report progress as they work. The person watches a live board with a bar per task, which agent is on it, time left, and any question the agent is stuck on, which they can answer from the board or a phone.
- Which agents work with it?
- Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, VS Code in Copilot agent mode, Gemini CLI, and any MCP client that can connect to a remote server.
- Does it read my code?
- No. Agents send task titles, notes and progress messages. Taskhold never reads your repository or sends anything to an AI model.
- Is there a free plan?
- No. It's $12 a month or $120 a year per person, with a 7-day trial that needs a card. The live board demo runs in the browser without an account.
- Can a team share one list?
- Not yet. Each list belongs to one person and their agents. Shared team workspaces are on the list of what's missing.
- Who makes it?
- Great Work LLC. Jake Marsh built it; he wrote Little Bites of Cocoa, a long-running iOS developer tips site.

Demo video
37 seconds, silent, with captions. A real recording of the live board on a demo account. The 9:16 and 1:1 cuts show the Taskhold name and taskhold.com from the first frame. Transcript: Taskhold's live board. Claude Code starts 'Add webhooks for invoice.paid', plans five steps, and each step fills its segment of the progress bar. On the tests step it asks: two delivery tests need a real HTTPS endpoint, OK to use a local tunnel in CI? The person types 'Yes, use the tunnel in CI. Skip it on forks.' and clicks Reply & unblock. The agent reads the reply, finishes the step and the task, and the task moves to Finished with a summary.

Logo and colors
Taskhold brand basics
- Name: Taskhold, one word, capital T only. Not TaskHold or Task Hold; lowercase only in URLs and code.
- Logo: the T-and-dot icon above. Keep clear space of a quarter of the icon's width around it; don't recolor it, add effects or set it on a busy screenshot.
- Color: cream paper #faf5ed, ink #0f1f30, one rust accent #b54710 for the main action and small highlights, not large fills. On the board, blue means an agent is working, red that it needs you, green done, always with a word next to the color.
- Type: Fraunces for headlines, Manrope for text, JetBrains Mono for numbers, commands and tool names.
- Imagery: real screenshots of the live board and the recorded demo. No stock photos and no mock dashboards with made-up numbers.
- Voice: plain and specific. Say what it does in one sentence ("Taskhold shows each agent's progress step by step"), not what it revolutionizes.
- Price: say "$12 a month, 7-day trial". There is no free plan, so don't call it free.
- Setup: describe it as the remote MCP server (taskhold.com/api/mcp) and a setup URL; there is no package to install.
